future Net Zero

Better Business. Better Planet.

NatWest and Microsoft team up to help businesses go green

NatWest Group has teamed up with Microsoft to help its business customers better understand their carbon footprint and create plans of action to reduce their emissions.

It will do so by combining its customer understanding with Microsoft’s innovative cloud, data and AI platform.

NatWest evaluated 500 of its business customers’ environmental challenges and found that 88% stated reducing their indirect emissions, such as those in their supply chains, was difficult to get external support for.

Its survey also revealed that the reasons for those that have failed to start reducing their emissions were a lack of resources and funds (55%) and a lack of information or data (46%).

The partnership aims to help these customers on their net zero journeys with the use of data and technology, slashing emissions in the process.

Microsoft achieved net zero in 2020 and aims to become a climate-positive business within four years. It has also been announced as a principal partner for November’s COP26 climate summit.
